No doubt many of you have been expecting this announcement - and today I'm officially confirming that, yes! I am running for Sooke Council in the 2026 municipal election.
I have built a business and a family in Sooke and I love our community. I consider it both a joy and a responsibility to seek a seat on Sooke Council. I want to earn your support and am ready to bring my energy, skills, and perspective as a young professional and parent to work for you. Let's build a thriving future together!
For many years now, I have attended around half of regular council meetings and I watch the recordings of all the meetings I miss. This means I have the knowledge of current council procedures, governance and staff to hit the ground running. I will bring real urgency and dedication to efficient and effective decision-making to Sooke Council. I think many of us are deeply frustrated by a pattern of delays and indecision, for example, on the Throup Road Connector. As a parent, I don't want the next generation to be burdened by the costs of our failure to take prompt and decisive action when our community needs leadership.
In light of recent announcements that - for the first time in Sooke's history - parties/slates will be part of our municipal election, I want to take a moment to assure you that I am running as an independent. At the municipal level, I have significant concerns about the impact of party politics - councillors need to be able to work together AND publicly challenge each other. If elected, I will work with everyone, regardless of their affiliations, to achieve shared goals and meet the needs of our community.
